Sterling Design is a multidisciplinary landscape architecture and civil engineering firm that provides site design services for both private and public sector clients. Working with SDA has provided me with a rich knowledge of the complete design process from preparing planning submittals for city review to development of construction documents. As a team member I have designed commercial landscapes that emphasized Xeriscape planting principals that follow the desired requirements set forth by the city code regulation. I have also developed irrigation plans that provide a clear accuracy of appropriate water usage. I have also produced landscape renderings that provide the municipality and the client with a colorful graphic presentation of the project.

Alpine Gardens is a design-build landscape company that focuses on residential design and landscape installation located in Fort Collins, CO. As a draftsperson with Alpine Gardens I collaborated with a team of experienced landscape professionals to produce a wide range of final deliverable documents. These included production of presentation graphics, landscape plans, construction documents, site plans, base maps, irrigation plans and perspectives, all that help guide field crews and/or help potential clients understand the vision of their new landscape.

Evolving Gardens is a small landscape company located in Fort Collins, CO. While working with this small crew of landscape contractors, I learned the basics of the landscape industry. I executed proper tree and shrub planting, irrigation trenching and equipment installation, paver installation, purchased, organized and installed landscape materials such as edging, mulching, and soil amendments. Along with installation this position equipped me with the skill set of working with clients and providing knowledgeable communication of the process and project.

Working with Denver Public Schools after school programs I was in charge of program sites and staff located in schools throughout the city of Denver. This leadership position taught me patience and how to multitask multiple projects and events as they come from different directions.

Through a variety of projects at various scales including urban, natural, and residential, I learned to utilize a process that takes into account landscape design, landscape materials, construction practices, presentation graphics, landscape architectural history, site analysis, and master plan creation. Projects presented at CSU offered a well rounded exposure to the world of landscape architecture.
