GIS Windpower

Project generated by using data from West Virginia State GIS Data Clearinghouse. Geographic information systems or (GIS) is a system designed to capture, store, manipulate, analyze, manage, and present all types of spatial or geographical data. The purpose of this project was to find areas of land that would be good candidates for wind turbines. By setting specific radius around sensitive land areas that include state parks, national forests, or populated areas, I found six areas that could be considered potential areas to hold wind turbines.
